Beyond Forever Studios Local Movie Night!
September 30, 2007 | Filed Under News
Jason and I have been invited to screen some of our movies at a local Independent Filmmakers Night in Santa Clara. We would love it if you could come out and join us! We’ll be showing about 11 of our short movies at the Mission City Coffee Roasting Company in Santa Clara, and best of all, it’s free! We hope you can make it!
-Christian and Jason

Independent Filmmakers Night
What:
Beyond Forever Studios will screen three recent 48 Hour Films their team have created, all of which won Audience Choice awards. In addition to these films and other amusements that the team wants to share, Jason and Christian will engage in a short Q&A and remain available to answer questions informally at the end of the evening.
Where:
Mission City Coffee Roasting Company
2221 The Alameda, Santa Clara, CA
When:
Tuesday Oct. 2, 7:30pm – 9:30pm
Why:
Because this is an excellent opportunity to meet the team that has amused audiences in both San Francisco and San Jose. Because it’s a wonderful chance to meet other filmmakers from the area. Because now that those of you who just made 48 Hour Films have had a chance to catch your breath, this will be an excellent place to start daydreaming about what you’ll create next year. Because you can get excellent sandwiches and salads at Mission City, and the coffee is good. Because the first Tuesday of every month at Mission City seems like a great way to stay in touch with the local community of filmmakers and media producers. Because it’s a Tuesday night in October, and this is the best place you could be. Because …you fill in the reason…

Love Spread – Awards!
August 27, 2007 | Filed Under News
The results are in! Love Spread, our Romance movie made for the 48 Hour Film Festival, took home 3 awards on awards night, August 20th! We couldn’t be happier. Our little movie was awarded the following:
- Audience Favorite Award (for the 2nd night of movies)
- Best Use of Landmark
- Honorable Mention for Best Film
It was just great to get such a positive response from the audience, but to also receive any awards is equally gratifying especially since there were so many other great movies. This now makes our third Audience Favorite Award (one for each 48 Hour movie we’ve made). But we are also excited to have received honorable mention for Best Film! Very cool stuff.
We couldn’t have done it without the help of our friends and family, so here they are:
Sharon Salazar, Evelyn Huynh, Angie Higgins, Tom Shamrell, Drew Campbell, Andrew Lorenz, and Carrissa Wilson. Thank you all so much! And now, if you haven’t seen it yet, here is Love Spread!
48 Hour Film Festival – Love Spread

The San Jose 48 Hour Film Festival has come and gone. This was actually the first festival to take place in San Jose, and since it’s much closer for us, Jason and I had to participate. We started the project on Friday, 8/10 and ended on Sunday, 8/12. I can’t tell you how much better it is not to have to drive back and forth to San Francisco. It’s like an hour each way! When we do the SF festival, we call it, “The 46 Hour Film Festival”.
So, we pulled Romance as our genre and had a blast making it. We actually finished relatively early on Sunday, and spent some time just waiting until the time we could turn it in. I think it turned out pretty cute. It’s a very simple concept yet it’s pretty fun. I just love this picture I took of Angie and Tom during the filming of one of our montage scenes.
The movie was shown on the following Thursday in downtown San Jose, and the response was fantastic. We were very, pleasantly surprised. We will find out tomorrow night whether our film won any awards. In the meantime, you can make up your own mind by watching the movie by clicking on Tom’s face below:
